Laminated glass is a safety glass made by laminating two or more panels of glass with a flexible plastic inter layer(Normally PVB).The glass and inter layer are bonded together by heat and pressure in a specially built autoclave. Generally the PVB inter layer is 0.38 mm thick, but other thicknesses are available to suit particular applications Another increasingly common inter layer is the SGP Inter layer. The product offers 5 times the tear strength and 100 times the rigidity of standard PVB. In the unlikely event of both panes of toughened glass breaking then the SGP will, in most applications, hold the glass in place. SGP offers an enhanced impact performance and greater protection against severe weather.
